Other Mausoleum claimed to play music |
In Forest Hill Cemetery it is known for its two large mausoleums, in which are haunted. It is said at night music plays in the halls of the mausoleum. Though during the day it seems quite peaceful and beautiful.
The one pictured at the top right ( The Pantheon) was locked when we first got there but we discovered that the other one was not. Not knowing whether or not we were suppose to enter we did. Wondering down the massive halls and beautiful art work, we soon found out that the music that can be heard at night was played by none other than a small radio sitting on the ground of one of the main halls. Though walking through out this mausoleum we couldn't help but to notice that

there were doors leading to small deadened rooms and mysterious coldness that clouded those areas. For one instance touching one of the old door handles we turned the knob and it slammed shut and it became cold. Now I will have to say that the building was very hot we checked the thermostat at one point and it read 92 degrees. After touring all through out the building finding weird things trough out we decided to leave soon after. But then we noticed a car parked in front of ours. A small woman watering the plants out side the other mausoleum. She told us the story of how she got here 50 years ago with only 100 dollars in her pocket and has made a living. During talking to her she hesitantly asked us if we wanted to enter the Pantheon. As we enter she follows us closely and tells us a story of a man named James Jess Lynn and the Guru Yogi through out their time in Kansas (you can research it on yogi and it give you the full story the woman did.) When she was talking to us she gave us the most strange feeling , though she told us she was very spiritual she gave us a very ghost like feeling when being around her and speaking with her.

The venture to downstairs |
We wanted to venture off cause looking through the building we noticed that there was a downstairs and a upstairs and we asked the woman if we may go to the staircase and asked where it was and unlike her she only pointed to the door. Upon opening the door we see one staircase for upstairs and one for down, what was weird though was that one of the staircases was blocked with a turned over cart like it had been thrown down the stairs. We decided to make this trip quick cause the woman gave us a bad feeling about this place so we split up. Going down the flight of stairs we found another door down there before we went to the other grave sites. We looked down it and we couldn't even see the hand in front of our face it was so dark.

The crematory |
Not really wanting to go down we all went in a single file line down the stairs with flash lights and me with the flash on my camera. All of a sudden things just got completely erie, a strange stale stench came from down there and the climate dropped dramatically the second we went down the last flight of stairs nothing felt right we could barely see our flashlights on the ground. We all kind of split off but not too far from each other. I only took quick shots of the main lay out of where each person was and didn't see anything in that moment. Soon we discovered that the basement was where the cremations were made. Amber had called my name to show me something which happened to be a small hatch door that lead to who knows what she soon had a stomach pain and Summer wanted us to go over to where her and Sid was yet again there was a metal door yet we hesitated to open it and we didn't want the woman finding us down in an area where we weren't sure we were aloud to be in. As soon as we reached for the door to open it to exit we saw the woman just standing in the door way staring at us like we shouldn't of seen what we saw. We all walked up the stairs silently and we said thank you for visiting and we said thank you for showing us. We all walked out like we witnessed a ghost which at the time we didn't know that we did see something but later we found out we in fact did find lots of things in the hot spot basement.

Another blown up portion of the photo where Ambers light was pointing was a small door and to the right of it was spattered blood on the walls. |

By ambers lower calf i blew up the photo and found this strange orb light |

I blew up the picture of the "around the corner of the basement" and in this photo if you look carefully you can see what seems to be the apparition standing behind Amber. |

Also above in the picture was a lightbulb that did not turn on but notice the chord of it looks like it was swaying although there was no wind. |
We had walked back to the other mausoleum with lots of thoughts in our heads of what was going on in this place we couldn't put a finger on it. This cemetery closed at 7 so we only had a few short hours to drive around and look at the grounds of the Confederate dead and many other famous gangsters through out the time of Kansas. Next time for us; Black Bob Cemetery.
